Reaul

Fresh off the 2012 Cavo “Thick As Thieves Tour,” Réaul is no stranger to touring, the band has traveled throughout the U.S. playing over 340 shows on a variety of different tours in the last 4 years, sharing the stage with Joe Jonas, Demi Lovato, Blink 182, My Chemical Romance, Cavo, Janus, and The Veer Union to name a few. Their latest album, titled “Casino Heart” (Released May 24th, 2011) has received rave reviews in numerous magazines and seen considerable amount of radio airplay.

Réaul began with lead vocalist / songwriter Rick Connell and bassist Michael Neeley in late 2006. “Rick and I had played in other bands growing up, but when we got together we knew there was something incredibly special about the music we were creating…the songs were hits,” said Michael. The rest of the band filled in quickly when Réaul brought on-board Nate Metzler (Drums) and Dave Kriebel (Lead Guitar). Their first release, a self-titled 3 song EP, came out December 5th, 2007. The band followed up with “Take Me Away,” a single release to iTunes and Amazon in October 2009. Their most recent release, “Casino Heart,” hit shelves May 24th, 2011.¹

I first crossed paths with Reaul during the Cavo tour earlier this spring. The honest lyrics, raw vocals, and infectious music instantly had my attention. Add in the fact that they are genuinely nice people,  and you have the makings of an “artist you should know”. I could talk for an hour about how great these guys are, but why read when you could be listening? For all things Reaul, check out the links below.

Featured Artist- Blackbells

Brooklyn-based psychedelic rock band Blackbells have quickly become known for their wall of sound approach, with soaring guitars, sneering vocals and a massive rhythm section. The New Yorker dubbed the band’s debut self-titled EP, released in early 2010, “radio friendly indie-rock”, and the overwhelming amount of positive feedback the band has received since assures that Blackbells is no flash in the pan. The EP hit the #18 spot in CMJ’s Top 200, and ever since the band has found themselves playing to sold-out crowds across the US and Canada with the likes of Band of Skulls, Alberta Cross, Crash Kings, and The Greenhornes as well as appearances at both CMJ and SXSW in 2010 and 2011.

“With a smooth British inspired bluesy sound, Blackbells use a blend of guitar melodies, driving rhythm, and passionate vocals reminicent of Oasis and The Verve with some NY edge.”
- Rocksposure.com

“Blackbells are bringing back the outrageous, raw sounds from the years in which The Verve, Oasis and Blur topped the musical charts.”
-VOGUE Italy

Earlier this week the band announced that they had signed with Fieldhouse Music a division of BMG Music. We predict one listen and you will be searching for more…

Nox Aeris Review

Posted on 07 April 2012 by Melissa

It’s not very often you run into some new music that forces you to upgrade your sound system, but that’s exactly what happened to me after my first listen to Janus’ new cd, Nox Aeris. Like most of the population I spend the majority of time listening to music through a pair of semi-decent headphones connected to my phone. It’s definitely not an audiophile’s dream, but lately I’ve become more complacent and the music has been a lot less demanding.

Well, that all changed the first time I heard “Stains”. It wasn’t that I felt I was missing something, I knew it and wasn’t happy about it at all. The sound was clipping all over the place. I refused to listen to it again, streaming from the internet on my tinny laptop speakers, and begged for a copy of the cd so I could take it for a real test drive. Continue Reading
