Digital Summer Interview

Posted on 25 January 2013 by Korey Wilson

One of the hardest working bands out there, Digital Summer is our featured artist of the week. I recently had the chance to catch up with one of their guitarists- Jon Stephenson. Picking his brain via phone, I found out not only was he a huge fan of Creed and a very talented guitarist, but he could also do your taxes in a pinch.

Dead Sara Interview

Posted on 15 September 2011 by Korey Wilson

For a brief period of time, Emily Armstrong thought that her mother was the musical mastermind behind Fleetwood Mac. Is this amusing and endearing? Yes, but more so, it gives us a glimpse into where her creativity and talent were born.

“Music just moves me. It has always been a passion. My mom used to sing Fleetwood Mac songs to me. She is so incredibly talented, to the point I thought she was Stevie Nicks when I was little. I picked up a guitar when I was 11, and she taught me everything. She is amazing, and is definitely an inspiration.”

The ExoSkeleton

Posted on 12 August 2011 by Korey Wilson

The Barcait Couture came together roughly 3 years ago. After a few small tweaks, including a name change, The ExoSkeleton was born last fall. Winning the Congress Theater Battle of the Bands, playing venues such as The Bottom Lounge, Beat Kitchen and The Metro, this band is quickly making a name for themselves. I recently sat down with Vinny(vox) and Jason(drums) to find out what their music is all about, their creative process, and exactly what they are bringing to the music scene in Chicago. The Action Blast Interview

Posted on 13 June 2011 by Korey Wilson

In a scene that is literally bursting at the seams with local talent, The Action Blast is making their own waves. They have shared the bill with The Sleeping, Greek Fire, Am Taxi, 30 Seconds To Mars, Seether, Papa Roach, and just recently finished touring with RED. Playing to sold out crowds at The Metro, House of Blues and The Bottom Lounge in Chicago is just the beginning for this band. Continue Reading

Sick Puppies Interview

Posted on 18 May 2011 by Korey Wilson

With overwhelming radio success from singles such as My World, You’re Going Down, and Odd One, coupled with an insane touring run that has spanned most of the last two years, Sick Puppies don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. We recently had the chance to sit down with them at Rockford Speedway before their headlining set at “WXRX The Concert.” Continue Reading

Default Interview

Posted on 15 May 2011 by Lisa

How often have you heard a song on the radio – one that was a huge hit a few years ago – and do one of two things: think back to the time when that single was popular and why you liked it so much, or perhaps wonder what happened to that singer or group that you haven’t heard from in recent memory? Two songs that fit that description (and are still in heavy rotation on my iPod) are “Wasting My Time” and “Deny”, both by Canadian rockers Default. As I learned over the winter, their hiatus can partially explained by record label bankruptcy; however, that doesn’t mean this foursome hasn’t been hard at work. Continue Reading

CB7 Interview

Posted on 07 May 2011 by Lisa

Two letters, a number, and a fresh infectious beat…that’s all it took for me to fall in love with my new favorite band, CB7. Say it with me boys and girls, “CB7″. One more time with feeling, “CB7!” Now commit this name to memory and watch for great things to come. While it may be some time before fans know the origin or meaning of his band’s name, lead singer and guitarist Antoine Becks was forthcoming with a few other questions posed last month by the GoC. Goodbye Good Sense Interview

Posted on 16 March 2011 by Korey Wilson

Limitless, Ambient, Dreamy, Experimental, Structure less, Progressive; These are all words that Goodbye Good Sense used to describe their music when asked what a new listener could expect when playing their CD for the first time. I sat down with Brandon, Jason, and Jon on a dreary Sunday afternoon. Dan joined us via speakerphone. Continue Reading

Neon Trees Interview

Posted on 14 December 2010 by Korey Wilson

Neon Trees. Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you have heard their smash hit ‘Animal’. They’re one of the most amazing groups to hit the scene this year… in fact maybe even EVER… but that’s just my opinion. We caught up with the gang in Chicago for an honest and insightful interview. Join us for an inside look at NT and the answers to questions you never even thought to ask. Continue Reading
